July Was The Hottest Month Utah’s Ever Had

Aug 5, 2021

July was the hottest month in Salt Lake City since the National Signal Service, the early precursor to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake, started keeping track in 1974.

July’s average temperature was 81 degrees, which is almost ten degrees above the June average of 71.6 degrees. Twenty seven of the thirty days in June were above average, while 18 of those were 10 or more degrees above the average. June was almost nine degrees above the monthly average.

With June being so warm, that just shows how hot July truly was. July only saw two days that were below the average temperature throughout the entire month. Because this last July was so warm, it raised the average temperature two whole degrees.
