Laurens Smith was named vice president for Utah State University Statewide Campuses by USU President Noelle Cockett on Friday.
Since May of last year, Smith has been serving as the interim vice president for Statewide Campuses. Previously he also served as interim vice president and dean of the Office of Research and Graduate Studies from 2018-19. He retained his role as interim vice president for research when the offices split. He served as interim provost from 2016-18. As vice president for Statewide Campuses, Smith will oversee more than 30 USU campuses, centers, and academic facilities.
