Thanks to pandemic related stay-at-home orders and an increase of working from home, traffic congestion was down about 30% in Salt Lake City last year, according to TomTom, the Netherlands-based navigation systems company.

According to TomTom, traffic congestion added an average of 5 minutes to 30-minute trips taken during morning rush hour and 8 minutes to 30-minute trips taken during evening rush hour in 2020. In 2019, morning rush hour added 8 minutes to these trips, while evening rush hour added 14 minutes.

The data from TomTom showed that February of last year was the month with the most traffic congestion, while April was the month with the least.
