In an effort to make higher education more affordable to incoming students, Utah State University launched the Utah State Promise scholarship on Wednesday. The scholarship is designed to provide assistance to full-time Pell-eligible students working toward their first four-year undergraduate degree. The scholarship promises that USU will pay remaining tuition and fee costs not covered by Pell Grants or other scholarships. In order for students to be eligible for the scholarship, they must complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA application and be Pell eligible, submit an online application to USU for fall 2022, be a Utah resident and U.S. citizen and they must intend to graduate from Utah State.

Executive director of New Student Enrollment Katie Jo says the scholarship is a “wonderful opportunity for incoming students who may not otherwise have the means to attend college.”

The scholarship is available to students who are attending any of USU’s statewide campuses. It will be renewable each year for up to four years, as long as students remain in good academic standing and continue to be Pell-eligible.
