The annual Legislative Policy Summit meets this Wednesday and will focus on the challenges expected to be tackled by the Utah legislature during its general session.

More than 200 state and local elected officials, non-profit leaders, educators, lobbyists, policy makers, and department heads will attend the Legislative Policy Summit Wednesday.

Keynote Speaker, Governor Mike Leavitt, the three-term Utah Governor and former Secretary of Health and Human Services, will offer insight on the political outlook for the country and what role Utah can and should play in shaping the conversation.

Other topics include liquor reform, immigration, economic development, and K-12 education.

Amanda Harris is from Dallas, Texas and began her career in radio in 2004 at CBS Radio Dallas as the Local Sales Coordinator for KJKK 100.3 Jack FM. After moving to Logan, Utah in 2009, she decided to put her career on hold and finish her degree. Amanda graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Public Relations and Marketing. With her love of radio and having worked in commercial radio for four years, it was a natural fit to finish her final semester working for UPR and learning all about public radio.
