Authorities in Utah have discovered the body of a missing hiker on Sunday after he left Idaho a week earlier for a backpacking trip in the Uintas.
KUTV-TV reported that the Summit County sheriff’s office said 25-year-old Boise resident Kyle S. Wimpenny was found by multiple agencies who conducted a four-day search after his roommate reported him missing last Wednesday. His car was located the following day. Search and rescue crews believe Wimpenny fell about 1,000 feet while attempting to summit Kings Peak, the state’s tallest mountain. His body was transferred to the medical examiner’s office in Kamas.
