UHP, UDOT Increase Speed Enforcement For Safety Campaign

Utah Department of Public Safety

If you’re planning on taking a road trip this weekend, pay extra attention to the speed limit, especially in construction zones. Utah joins 11 other states this weekend in increasing speed enforcement for a speeding safety campaign.

The Utah Highway Patrol and Utah Department of Transportation is participating in the Western States Traffic Safety Coalition’s Excessive Speed Enforcement Safety Campaign, which runs from Friday to Sunday.

UHP’s enforcement campaign will begin in the construction zone on I-80, but the increased enforcement isn’t just on the freeway. Over 21 law enforcement agencies in Utah will also participate with over 150 extra speed enforcement shifts on city and county roads throughout the state.
