Utah Afghan Americans Gather, Protest For U.S. Action In Afghanistan

A group of protesters gathered Sunday at the Utah State Capitol to speak out against the current Taliban control in Afghanistan. The group of demonstrators, that mainly included Afghan Americans, say history is repeating itself. They say the recent Taliban control is similar to 20 years ago. The group says the Taliban is claiming to be more modern, but they are actually continuing their traditions of terror.

Many of the demonstrators were protesting for family members, friends, and women who are still in Afghanistan. The demonstrators say they want the United States to take action and help those who are being stripped of their freedoms.

The protestors say the way the U.S. left Afghanistan was a mistake. They say Utahns, the country, and the world must support Afghans in their desperate time of need.
