Utah has joined a petition along with Texas, Mississippi and South Carolina to challenge President Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate. The mandate states businesses with 100 or more employees must require employees to be vaccinated or be regularly tested. This will go into effect on Jan. 4th, and could include a potential $14,000 dollar fine for businesses per violation.

The petition against the mandate was filed by Texas at the 5th circuit court of appeals. The Texas Attorney General says the mandate is unconstitutional, and Biden has overstepped his bounds. The petition will seek a motion to stay which would prevent the mandate from going into effect.
