The Utah Wildlife Board has voted to continue to sell elk permits over-the-counter and online as these permits continue to increase in popularity. The Division of Wildlife Resources said all 15,000 permits sold out in 11 days in 2020. This year, 17,500 permits sold out in 10 hours.

DWR said the popularity increase has caused slower processing times, which can be a frustrating experience for hunters. They say they are working to improve the online purchasing system to expand the site and speed up the process.

The DWR also approved a number of other changes. You can visit the DWR page here for a full update.
