Gov. Herbert Continues To Urge Utahns To Follow COVID Guidelines

Oct 28, 2020

Utah Gov. Gary Herbert used Spanish-language translators on Tuesday to encourage residents to follow COVID-19 guidelines outlined by the state. He said most Utahns are taking the pandemic seriously but worries some in the state may find it confusing to keep up with the new and updated restrictions.

21 of the state's 29 counties currently fall within the highest level of COVID-19 transmission. Herbert said in those areas' masks are required for public gatherings and that gatherings should be limited to 10 or fewer people.

Herbert also said if asked by medical care experts to invoke a plan to assist overwhelmed medical facilities, he would. The state's Crisis Standards of Care plan is a list of procedures for medical providers to follow in the case of an emergency that overwhelms medical facilities.
