Latter-day Saint Charities Provide Afghan Refugees Aid In Qatar

Afghan Refugees arriving in Qatar are receiving aid through the humanitarian branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Latter-day Saint Charities.

As people continue to flee Afghanistan to escape the Taliban regime thousands have crossed the border into Qatar with only the clothes on their back.

Latter-day Saint Charities has provided clothing, shoes, hygiene supplies and infant care items such as baby formula, diapers, and small toys for children.

Thanks to the local Latter-day Saints in the region, the aid was quick to follow as many local stores were contacted for supplies. Many stores offered significant discounts for the supplies which filled the equivalent of 90 passenger vans.

All known members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints deployed or working in Afghanistan have been reported to have left the country and are accounted for.
