Local architect groups and Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall joined to announce the launch of a competition for tiny home designs.
Winners of the competition will be awarded $1,000 and runner-ups will be given $500. The Empowered Living Design Competition invites architects, designers and any others who feel they have art skills to submit ideas and designs for homes to address the city’s affordable housing shortage.
Judging of entries will be based on affordability, livability, sustainability, durability and accessibility.
