Utah Symphony Visit To Feature Violinist With Valley Roots

Traveling to Cache Valley next week to play as a featured soloist with the Utah Symphony Orchestra will be like coming full circle for violinist Aubree Oliverson — in a couple of ways.

The 22-year-old Orem native played with the orchestra at age 11 after winning a young performers competition, and as a child her family traveled often to Cache Valley to visit Aubree’s grandmother, Loenza Oliverson, in Preston.

“It’s kind of a special week,” she said in an interview with The Herald Journal on Friday in advance of Tuesday’s 8:15 p.m. open-air concert at the American West Heritage Center. The free event will be the first of five Utah shows staged by the orchestra with Oliverson as part of its “Forever Mighty Tour.” Read the rest of the story on HJnews.com.
