Fresh Folk- April 13

On the show this week, I feature the pairing of Pete Seeger and Lorre Wyatt, as well as the serene baritone of Bill Staines. I’ll also play tracks from new albums by Neptune’s Car, Lucy Kaplansky, and Pat Green, among other talented artists. Tune in and listen this Saturday at 8pm to Fresh Folk on Utah Public Radio.

There some great concerts happening around the state, including:  Colin Hay at the State Room on April 17th, Joshua James at the Urban Lounge on April 19th, Paul Kelly at the Depot on April 26th, Rodriguez plays at the Complex on April 29th, Todd Snider at the State Room on May 2nd, the Milk Carton Kids at the State Room on May 6th, The Shins at Park City Live on May 13th, and looking far ahead, the Ogden Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival takes place May 31- June 2nd with The Boxcars, Elephant Revival and Tim O’Brian headlining.  In Logan, pianist Radoslav Lorkovic does a house concert on April 19th, Tanner McDowell plays at WhySound on April 20th, and the Iowa-based duo Chad Elliott and Bonita Crowe perform at Crumb Brothers on May 4th.

Originally from Virginia, Blair has lived in Logan for 20 years. She has earned degrees in Environmental Science, Earth Science Education, and Geology. She has been involved in the folk music community for many years, producing local concerts for nearly 20 years, and hosting Fresh Folk for over a decade. Blair is an avid fan of both science and music, and attempts to indulge both sides of her brain every day. Blair and her husband share their home with 4 exceptional cats.
