Some businesses are worried that the status of national parks, along with rising costs, could deter visitors from coming to tourism gateway towns this summer.

In other news, Provo City officials are warning the public to stay away from the Provo River this summer. And, Utah has received $20 million in federal funding from the Federal Highway Administration to help “connect the West.”

A temporary break for the winter was announced, but the freeway lane enhancement project will resume in spring 2024.

In other news: Utah state park officials are asking visitors not to disturb rock cairns.

In celebration of National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 24, all entrance fees will be waived at National parks across the country.
