More than 1,000 Airbnb listings are spread across Rich County, Utah, and Bear Lake County, Idaho — areas with fewer than 10,000 permanent residents combined.

The Logan City Council also set new restrictions for short-term rentals like Airbnbs, though unlicensed short-term rentals remain a challenge in the city.

The Logan Municipal Council discussed Tuesday whether to lift restrictions on Accessory Dwelling Units and short-term rentals, in an effort to increase affordable housing.

One proposal would prohibit street parking. It is also possible that changes will be made to zoning areas that allow short-term rentals.
