The primary election in June did not go too well for many Cache County voters who didn’t receive their mail-in ballots in time. But Danny Beus, secretary for the Cache Democrats, said he is hopeful for a high voter turnout because of the mail-in ballots.
“I hope we see higher voter turnout," Beus said. "You know, a lot of people say, ‘You know, I think I’m going to stay home from this election cycle.’ And the fact is in Cache County, everybody’s staying home.”
Beus said there are a lot of benefits to voting through the mail. One is that it gives voters a chance to see who’s on the ballot and do some more research.
Also, he said it will, “make it easier for people to vote - to get more people to vote. You know voting is a right, it’s not a luxury and so we just hope that there’s no hoops to jump through or hurdles to climb over so that we can vote - so that we can exercise the right.”
October 11th, is the last day to mail in your voter registration form. Online registration is available till November 1st.
