According to KUTV, only 185 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Utah since Sunday — and the Utah Department of Health is expressing concerns about the decreasing number of Utahns getting tested. The UDOH said the number of COVID tests done daily has essentially been cut in half statewide. With COVID variants spreading quickly, health officials are warning that now is not the time to ignore symptoms of infection.
UDOH spokesperson Charla Haley said getting tested, catching cases and contact tracing are big components of “fighting this pandemic and getting it under control.” Haley also said the state has no plans to phase out testing.
