The heat wave forecast has already shown its true colors in Utah this week. Just after 4 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service said the temperature hit a record-breaking 102 degrees near the Salt Lake City International Airport. The previous day’s record was 101 degrees back in 1974.According to FOX 13, Monday is expected to be a set-up to an even hotter Tuesday. Temperatures across Utah are expected to hit mid-to high 100s. Salt Lake City is forecasted to have a high of 105 degrees, while Moab’s expected to hit 108 degrees and St. George at 110 degrees.
An excessive heat warning is in effect for a large portion of the state until Wednesday at midnight.
