This Fourth of July weekend, Col. Gail Halverson, also known as the “Candy Bomber” will be taking flight for the last time in Saint George. This event is in partnership between Dixie State University, United We Pledge, Balance of Nature, and the KONY Country 4th of July Celebration.

On July 3, Halverson will be flown over the Greater Zion Stadium where he will be dropping candy. After landing, he will be presented with the first Gail Halverson Lifetime Service Award.

Other activities include honoring nine Washington County veterans and unfurling of ‘Big Betsey’— the largest U-S Flag to be flown.
