The St. George Market boosts small businesses

Indigo Klabanoff

Small businesses in St. George are continuing to grow through the help of a local street market in Saint George, Utah.

The St. George Market started as a little pop-up market where small businesses could set up stands and sell their products. It has now grown into a large market where anyone can shop for local goods all throughout downtown St. George.

Founder of St. George Market, Indigo Klabanoff, said she’s seen the significant growth the market has brought local small businesses.

“I wanted to bring small-businesses to the forefront of our community; and there were so many that were just hidden treasures here in our community. It has really morphed into a small business incubator,” Klabanoff said.

Klabanoff said, the idea of starting the market was inspired by her love for artisans, fashion, and decor, as well as the need to amplify small businesses within her community.

The St. George Market team not only provides an area for small businesses to sell their goods, but provides a five-part business consultation to help small-business owners learn more about marketing strategies.

“Not only do those people get a social media present, they get this hands on consultation to discuss paying points, goals, history, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities; and then we try to dot he who what why where when analysis of who their brand is, why they do what they do, and amplify their vision to help them grow their business,” Klabanoff said.

The St. George Market will celebrate their one year anniversary on Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in St. George Town Square.
