Utah State Legislature debates three bills on transgender youth

unknown
The Utah State Legislature has proposed three bills on transgender healthcare.

Hundreds of protesters gathered at the Utah State Capitol, Tuesday for a protest against three bills affecting transgender youth. The bills would restrict medical procedures for transgender youth and require parental consent for schools to recognize students as a different gender than was assigned at birth. One bill, which would have prohibited gender-affirming surgery for minors, failed to pass the committee with a 9-5 vote.
