Small Plane Crash In Southern Utah Kills Two

Chris Holmes

A Collision with a 300-foot tall communication tower brought down a single-engine airplane killing two men near Cedar City on Sunday.

Cedar City 911 first received a call of an aircraft in distress, then of a crash. Multiple agencies responded to an area about 5 miles south of Cedar City Airport to find a single-engine airplane near a mountain of wreckage that used to be a 300-foot tall communication tower.

“Two adult males were located and pronounced dead at the scene. One is a 52 year old male and the other is a 63 year old male. Neither are from the Iron County area,” said Sgt. Del Schlosser with Iron County Sheriff’s Department.

The NTSB and FAA will be conducting an investigation. The names of the victims are not being released at this time.
