Morgan Canyon Fire Caused By Fatal Plane Crash, Officials Say

According to KUTV, officials confirmed Monday that the start of the new Morgan Canyon fire in Tooele County is the result of a fatal plane crash, which occurred late Thursday night. Reports of the fire began during the overnight hours into Friday morning.The national Transportation Safety Board reported that two people were killed in the crash, but local authorities have yet to release their identities. The cause of the crash is still unknown. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

 

The Morgan Canyon fire has increased in size to 37 acres with zero percent containment so far. A Temporary Flight Restriction is currently in place in the area.
