Another Group Of Utah Firefighters Head Out Of State To Fight Wildfires

Utah is sending 24 more firefighters to help western states that are struggling with containing wildfires.This group, heading to Montata, will leave Thursday morning and remain deployed for 14 days plus travel days. As with the other deployments, this group is part of the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, which coordinates state emergency agencies. 

 

This newest group consists of firefighters and equipment from Utah Forestry Fire and State Lands, Unified Fire Authority, Salt Lake City, Provo, Lehi, Washington City and North Tooele.

Tyler Hewitt is the web/social media assistant at UPR. He writes stories every day, updates the website and manages the station's Twitter and Facebook pages.
