Growth Continues At SUU As Spring Semester Begins

suu.edu

The sound of carillon bells welcomed students back to Southern Utah University after the holiday break.

In a long-standing tradition, freshman are led in procession eastward, beneath the campus bell tower, the walkway lined with faculty and upper classmen.

Later, as graduates, they will proceed beneath the tower in a westerly direction, and on to graduation ceremonies.

SUU saw its largest fall freshman class with over 900 new students.  Overall enrollment is also at a record high, expected to top 10,000 for the first time by the end of the semester.

Chris Holmes holds a Masters of Professional Communication degree from Southern Utah University. While at SUU his work received numerous awards including the 2009 King Foundation Best of Festival Award in the National Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts. Chris is co-host of the daily public affairs program, Big Picture Morning Show on radio station KSUB (Cedar City, Utah). He also is a sports and news contributor at Cherry Creek Media.
