Police say a slain officer was doing a job he loved in his hometown of Ogden, Utah, when he was shot and killed during a domestic violence call. Fellow officers said Friday that Nathan Lyday was born in Ogden, went to school there and worked at a grocery store before graduating from college and becoming an officer 15 months ago. The Deseret News reports that Lyday was about to celebrate his fifth wedding anniversary with his wife Ashley. He was killed Thursday when a man suspected of threatening his wife fired a gun through a closed door. The gunman died in the shootout.
