The Brigham City Museum of Arts is accepting entries into its upcoming photography exhibition entitled "Development"

Theme: “Development”

“Art calls for complete mastery of techniques, developed by reflection within the soul.”
— Bruce Lee

This open competition invites photographers to explore the various interpretations of the theme “Development.” Development is a process, and it is a skill to be nurtured. It may represent physical or digital techniques. It may be an exterior force or an internal reflection on where we have been, where we are, or where we are going. For some, it may be a combination of these things. It is up to the artist to find the development within their craft, and share it with the world through their photography in this special exhibition.

The third annual Halloween Family Night at the Brigham City Museum Will be held on Friday, October 16th at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to participate in SPOOKtacular games and crafts

The Field of Fright at Glen Ray's in Spanish Fork presents a haunted attraction for Utah county with live actors on Fridays and Saturdays at 10:00 p.m. through October 30th.

Enter a darkened cornfield and abandoned farm town where the butcher, woodcutter, and restless souls of the farm are waiting.

Glen Ray’s presents southern Utah County’s only haunted attraction, complete with chilling performances by live actors in a real corn maze in an all-too-real field of fright.

Instead of waiting in a long line, wait for your prescheduled entry time at Glen Ray’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, included with your ticket, or grab a bite at our concessions!

The Field of Fright includes darkness, live actors, loud noises, fog effects, and sudden scares. Recommended for ages 12+.

Preservation Utah presents the Poplar Grove historic homes tour on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 a.m.

Step inside some of Poplar Grove’s historic homes during Preservation Utah’s 2026 Historic Homes Tour. Explore the architecture, history, and stories of this Salt Lake City neighborhood through a rare look inside privately owned historic residences.

Best Friends Animal Society presents Strut your Mutt in Salt Lake City on Saturday October 17th at 11:00 a.m. in Liberty Park.

Strut Your Mutt is coming home!
We’re thrilled to announce that Strut Your Mutt is returning to the place where it all began: Salt Lake City.
For decades, Best Friends Animal Society’s annual dog walk and community festival has been bringing people together to save the lives of homeless pets across the country. This year, it’s back for good, and we hope to see you there. Mark your calendar!
Strut Your Mutt  Saturday, October 17 | 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Liberty Park in Salt Lake City
Registration gets you a gift bag and a Strut Your Mutt T-shirt, plus some extra perks at the festival! 
You can designate your $35 registration fee as a donation to Best Friends or to one of our participating network partners.
A fundraiser that saves lives
Every dollar raised from Strut Your Mutt goes directly to help save dogs and cats in communities throughout the U.S.
Since every Strut Your Mutt participant chooses to support and raise funds for either Best Friends or their favorite participating animal welfare organization, so many animals are helped at shelters and rescue groups across the country. 
All money raised from Strut Your Mutt has been used to save homeless pets in our communities through spay/neuter programs, adoption events, foster programs, veterinary care, lifesaving transports, and other activities.

The Logan Library continues its “America 250” Lecture Series on October 17th, the third Saturday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the Logan Library Community Rooms, featuring a variety of engaging speakers and topics related to American history.
