Tune in to Utah Public Radio on May 10 - the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad - for the premiere of the UPR original documentary "Ride The Rails: A Storytelling Exploration Uncovering The Forgotten Stories Of The Early Railroad."

This one-hour special examines with fresh eyes Utah's history with the railroad on the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike. You can tune in worldwide by streaming Utah Public Radio online at upr.org or by downloading the free UPR app.

This cleverly created audio documentary will transport you back in time 150 years when the transcontinental railroad was finished, uniting the nation, right here in Utah.

I grew up in Smithfield Utah, started listening to Utah Public Radio as a child, and became part of the UPR team in college. Here, I get to host Saturday mornings and keep the Community Calendar updated, sharing Utah events with everyone.
