Authorities rescued dozens of people trapped by flash floods and debris flows in the area of a wildfire burn scar in northern Utah.

The National Weather Service says heavy rains triggered flash flooding Sunday afternoon near The Pinnacles. Water is over the bridge at Strawberry River and Timber Canyon.

Duchesne County Sheriff's deputies, County Road Department workers and firefighters helped rescue at least 50 people.

The Dollar Ridge Fire has burned almost 89 square miles (230 square kilometers) since it started July 5 and is now 90 percent contained.

The National Weather Service says a half inch of rain fell on the burn scar area in a short amount of time.
