Fourth of July

In keeping with our nation’s 250 year celebration, red, white, and blue have decorated Utah’s higher elevations from Tony Grove in the north to Cedar Breaks in the south.

In other news, a bat tested positive for rabies in Weber County, the fourth in Utah this year. And, you can light fireworks at the Bonneville Salt Flats on the Fourth of July this year.

A local firework vendor said sales have plummeted following the statewide ban. Meanwhile, first responders are gearing up for a busier holiday weekend than usual.

In other news, crews fighting the Iron Fire in Juab County may have been exposed to lead. And, target shooting is banned on wildlife management areas in over half of Utah's counties.

In other news, Cedar City is getting a new fire truck that can fight both structure and wildland fires. And, Box Elder County dairy farms must test for avian flu after it was discovered in the area.

Gov. Spencer Cox issued the emergency order on Thursday as wildfires rage across the state, including the devastating Cottonwoods Fire near Beaver.

Provo, Lehi, and Ogden are the latest to prohibit fireworks in certain areas. In other news, a Target is opening in Logan next month, and three more northern Utah stores are on their way.
