Protesters Gather Outside Logan Courthouse On Saturday For Second Black Lives Matter Protest

Harley Barnes

On Saturday, protesters gathered outside of the Logan courthouse for a second protest this week to support the Black Lives Matter movement.

Kylie Jackson is the leader of the protest that took place outside the courthouse in Logan on Saturday.

Jackson said she initially started to organize a small group of protesters, but it grew once the Logan City Council and other individuals started to donate and support her in the efforts.

“When I saw these people coming today, I was in tears because I love them all for coming," she said.

Jackson said she was not expecting to have such a large turnout.

One of the people who attended the protest was Rachel Richards who traveled from Bountiful to participate. She said it is important to her that the stories of her Black and Brown friends get heard.

“Their story is different than ours, so we need to listen to them and share their story," she said.

Richards said she believes those who are white have a responsibility to step up and fight for equality.
